The kids little gardens

Well here is a picture of the kids gardens. From left to right Ryan's, Karlie's and Derek's. The plants are a little sad because of the 98 degree weather we had a few days ago! I don't know what's going on with the cool weather today. We are working on fixing the side yard where the gardens are. We are going to add in more rocks so it will look prettier. I would have put some pictures of our other flowers in the yard and our humming bird feeder but Doug went on some crazy mission and cut down 3 of the 4 huge trees in our backyard and it just doesn't look so nice with 3 big fat stumps there. When he finishes his little project and plants the new trees I will put up some pictures.

After Sunday's Games

My camera died at the games on Sunday! It made me so mad! I didn't have any spare batteries with me. But I did take some after game pictures. Karlie is still all red and sweaty!

Karlie's game and a visit to the ENT

Karlie had her best game ever!! Her team won 6 to 5! She started the game as a mid-fielder and finished as a forward. That girl ran her butt off the whole game! She only got called out once to get a drink then requested to go right back in. She was so on her game. She is finally getting her positioning down and was always in the right place. She did some awesome passes and took the ball all the way down the field a few times. She hasn't scored a goal yet but she has come so close. We are so proud of her. She really loves playing. All three of the kids do! It will be sad after the last game next week. Luckily they will all be playing in the fall!

So Derek and Ryan saw the ENT today. Both of them had tubes put in their ears Derek at 10 months and Ryan at 15 months. The tubes did seem to help. Last summer Derek was complaining of ear pain. We took him in and the ENT said there was allot of wax in the way but he could see his tubes were not connected any more but were sitting in the ear canal and would soon fall out on their own. He had a slight ear infection and was put on an antibiotic. About 2 days later he had horrible pain and said he heard a pop in his ear. He had fluid drainage and we took him back to the ENT. Apparently his ear drum had burst from the pressure and now the loose tube was stuck to tissue in the ear. To make a long horrible story a little shorter...Derek had to be strapped down while the fluid and the tube were removed from his ear. It was horrible but everything got better. Derek had to continue to use ear plugs when in water. At his next appointment his other tube was all the way out and the ENT could see his ears really well. He said everything was all healed up well but the holes from the tubes were still there so continue to use the ear plugs. So back to today. Ryan sat nice and still for the ENT and he took a look, then he pulled a little clump of wax from each ear with each tube inside. He said everything was great and Ryan is now free and clear. When he looked at Derek he said everything looked great but the holes are STILL there. So now Derek has to have the holes patched. It is a quick day surgery and he can go home right after. Apparently they take some sort of film and patch the hole. Then the film encourages tissue to build and close the holes permanently. Doctor says there is nothing to loose in the procedure and everything to gain. If we do nothing Derek will just have to wear ear plugs whenever he is in water. Derek doesn't have any hearing damage but the holes don't allow him to hear correctly because the hole makes the sound distribute differently. Once the hole is gone everything should be perfect. Right now we don't notice any hearing problems but the doctor says it is very slight and will be totally fixed when the holes close. I will keep you updated. Please pray for everything to heal correctly and for the procedure to go well.

What's new?

Ok last week my brother built the kids beautiful planter boxes. the kids have been wanting to plant some things so we went to the nursery. Karlie picked Strawberries, Derek picked jalapenos and Ryan picked grape tomatoes. They all picked a flower also. When Daddy got home he brought all the potting soil and we got to work. I think Ryan enjoyed the dirt more than everyone else. We had allot of fun planting and the gardens are very cute. I will post pictures soon! The next day was earth day so they all got to share how we planted a garden.

Karlie is trying out for the 2nd grade Geo-Bee. She really hopes to be chosen to represent her class. So we have been studying with her. The other day the cutest thing happened while her and Daddy were studying. Derek was sitting there listening to all the questions and answers. Daddy asked Karlie what the country to the North of the USA was. She was thinking real hard so he gave her a clue. He said, "It's NORTH of the USA so it's above us." Before Karlie could answer Derek starts saying, "I know, I know!" So Daddy says to Derek, "What is it?" Then Derek answered, "Heaven!" I just thought that was the cutest thing ever!!!

The boys had their game this morning and once again The Sharks won! It was a really fun game! It was very hot and super windy but lots of excitement! Derek dominated just like always scoring 7 goals, but our little Ryan scored 2 goals!!! It was awesome!! Kyla also scored 2 goals so the final score was 11 to 2! Karlie has her game at 3:45 so I will update later!

What is pain?

So I have officially started training for the 3 Day! In addition to that I started working out again. So I have been working out and/or walking 3 miles everyday! Plus not only am I working out but I'm "suffering!" My "Suffering" is when you feel like your too tired to keep going but you keep going anyway and not only do you keep going but you add more and go faster! Well after suffering on Tuesday, I woke up Wednesday super sore! I went and visited with my Grandma and my brother Eric. We all ran errands together and I kept complaining about how sore I was. Then while we were having lunch after many complaints from me, I once again said how sore I was. Eric said, "Do you know what pain is?" I said, "Gain?" He says, "No it's weakness leaving your body!" I just love that! I think it's a Marines motto!

So along with my new active lifestyle I have also started juicing! No not steroids! I am using a juicer! So if I have any good tips I will share them here. So far a really good one is half a papaya and 2 oranges then take that juice and put it in the blender with a banana. That in itself is really yummy, but then I added a scoop of Green Food powder (Yup I went green!) and a Tbl spoon of organic Flax oil and there you have it. The Green Food and Flax oil didn't change the taste much but it did change the color. It didn't look very good at all but it did taste good and I know it's good for you. Doug even drank it!

A mean Mommy on April Fool's Day!

So it's April Fool's Day what's a Mommy to do? I heard about this idea and I modified it a bit. Here's what I did. Last night when my sweet little innocents slept I made brownies. A few minutes before the brownies were done I took them out of the oven. I scooped the the under cooked brownies into a large Zip lock bag. Then with Pot holders on my hands I squished the brownies all up. Then I cut the corner off the bag and squeezed the brownie mixture out onto a cookie sheet into the shape of little "poops!" I put the "poops" into the oven for a couple minutes and then let them cool. Then today I told the kids I had something for them to try. Before I showed them what it was I told them Daddy heard some strange information about a weird item that had nutritional value like vitamins in it. I told them Daddy had gone out last night and collected one of these items special for each of them. They kept asking, "what is it?" I told them I would show them in a minute and I just wanted them to each try at least one bite. Then I unveiled the "poopy platter!" Karlie took one look and said, "I don't want that!" Derek said, "I'm not eating that!" Karlie started to get tears in her eyes. Ryan looked down at the "poops" and said, "Me will it's chocolate!" He popped a piece into his mouth. Karlie took a closer look and tried a piece. It took allot of convincing to get Derek to try it though! It was so funny. It took everything in me not to laugh! I felt bad when it looked like Karlie might cry! But in the end we all laughed about it. Through out the day Ryan told people we ate poop today and they thought it was his April Fool's joke. Then I would explain it was actually a joke I played on the kids!
